Attorney Delona Laxton
Delona Laxton grew up in Littlefield, a small town in west Texas. She and her family moved to Kingwood from Richmond, Virginia in 2009. She is the proud mother of three beautiful children and an avid photographer.
Before becoming an attorney, Delona was a teacher. She worked with children with learning and emotional disabilities, particularly dyslexia. Delona began advocating for children with disabilities and training other teachers how to educate children with dyslexia. This background has shaped her philosophy that children come first.
Delona is a firm believer in Alternative Dispute Resolution and keeping families out of the courts. As such, Delona is not only an attorney, but also a mediator and a certified parenting coordinator and parenting facilitator. The Texas legislature created parenting coordinators and facilitators to work with high conflict families to teach effective co-parenting skills in order to minimize court intervention. Parents know the needs of their families better than judges so it is very important that parents be able to work together.
